A great FREE event for all Streathamites, Kite fans and those who want a fun day out from further afield. It has everything…music, food…and kites!

Volunteers will be needed so if you want to join in – please let us know. We can only make it happen with the community being a part of it. its good fun and you get to be part of a really important Streatham Event.

It’s that time of year where professional Kite fliers from all over the country congregate in the heart of Streatham.

<p>A free music festival will be held at the Rookery Gardens on Saturday the 1s of July from 11am- 10pm.<br /> Bringing local musicians and artists in front of the local audience in with live performance on the stunning backdrop of the renewed Rookery Gardens.</p> <p>Limited availability!</p> <p>Due to the license at the Rookery there is a limited amount of tickets available. Entrance is free and will be available for a donation on the door.

<p>Sunday 4th June, Band in the Rookery, 3pm - Steve and the Hats will be playing acoustic music from 3.00 to 6.00pm under the cedar tree in the Rookery. Bring a picnic and enjoy the music.<br /> Free entry but there will be a collection for the band.</p>

<p>The 20th Streatham Common Kite Day will now take place on the 2nd of September 2018 from 11am until 5pm. </p> <p>The original date for the event had set for the 13th May. Unfortunately, a number of events linked to adverse weather conditions of February and March mean that the common is deeply waterlogged and will need more time to recover. For this reason, public event on the ground had to be either cancelled or postponed.

<p>A guided 6 miles walk through remaining fragments of the Great North Wood.<br /> No booking necessary. </p>

Meet at the Rookery Cafe at 9.30am. Eleanor Dare will lead a walk to look at the different fungi growing on the Common.

12 noon to 5pm at the paddling pool at the top of the common. Stalls and raffle to raise funds to help SCCOOP keep the paddling pool open next year. BBQ by the Rookery cafe.

A gentle guided walk looking at the geology of Streatham Common – how rocks have shaped, and continue to shape, the local area. With Dr Iain Boulton – no geological experience necessary!
