Streatham Library - what do people want to see?

Bissett Adams architects, who have been appointed by Lambeth in conjunction with the Friends of Streatham Library have been looking at the current layout and use of the Library.

We have uploaded the current layout plan of the building. This shows what a substantial area is out of sight to most people in the former Tudor Hall that is linked at the rear of the rear of the library. It also shows how little space there currently is at first floor level and how half of the upstairs space is inaccessible because of the differences of levels.

Bisset Adams have not been able to get into the false ceilings put in over the years in the Reference Library and Tudot Hall, so they have not been able to complete a full condition survey of the building. This might mean that a larger proportion of monet available needs to be committed to repairs rather than new works once there has been a fuller investigation of the state of the roofs.

We have also uploaded the architects first consultation questions on the use/layout of the building.
