Palace Road Nature Garden Summer Fete

Saturday, July 11, 2015 - 12:00

Come and enjoy the Palace Road Nature Garden Fete. The Nature Garden is one of Streatham’s hidden gems, carefully maintained by a few dedicated volunteers, and The Friends of Hillside Gardens Park, which is nearby. Once the grounds of a large Victorian House at 36 Palace Road, it is now a biodiverse nature garden with secret paths, wildflower meadows, woodland areas, fruit trees, pond, and a spectacular new hand painted mural which was unveiled by Levi Roots in August 2014. The Garden Fete will be a fun afternoon for you to explore the nature garden and learn about the natural planting and history of the site. There will be music, nature walks, foraged edibles and homemade cordials, a coconut shy, history on the site, and plants for donations.
Bring a picnic and sit on one of the handmade wooden benches, have a stroll around the garden and soak up the atmosphere, or have a photo taken in front of the mural.
