Several of us met with representatives of Better, the leisure centre operator, and Lambeth Council with a view towards forming a used group for the leisure centre. The reps from Better and Lambeth expressly stated it's up to the user group to set its terms of reference which we're happy to do.

The user group has representation from over 50s, swimmers and non-users (who wish to but don't for some reason). The group is looking to recruit users of the leisure centre from ice dancers/skaters, hockey players, gym users, casual users, fitness class users and swimming club users.

Streatham Leisure Centre User Group

Better (Greenwich Leisure Ltd) and Lambeth council have consulted with users and held meetingw with interested users to form a group to provide feedback on the service provision at the Streatham Leisure Centre. The User Grpoup will solicit opinion and feed this back to the liesure centre management team as well as disseminate information widely to users. More information will be added here once available.

Streatham Community Boxing Club

A Streatham father has launched a boxing charity to help the area's teenagers following the riots across London in August last year. Darren Hill, 40, said he watched the footage of the rioters with a growing feeling of frustration that young children were among the older looters. Friends and family joined Darren on Friday (6 January) at the Pied Bull pub in Streatham Common for a charity pool night which raised $170 in aid of Team Lambeth Boxing Club.
