Community Chest Grant Fund – £3000 up for grabs for local projects

Last year we ran a community chest event for youth provision (see below). This year we will be running a similar event for local causes in a Dragon's Den format andf there will be six pots of ney worth £500 each up for grabs. We will post more details very soon so watcht his space!

You’ve told us that there aren’t enough youth facilities and activities in Streatham, and that young people don’t feel they have a proper stake in Streatham life.

So we are putting our money where our mouth is. Streatham Action is seeking to give a total of £2500 to support projects specifically directed at, and involving, young people in Streatham. This is the first time Streatham Action has focused its Community Chest funding on one particular theme.

Funding is available for youth-focused projects in Streatham that will help to:

  • improve the quality of life for young people;
  • encourage young people to get more involved with their local community;
  • build partnerships between community groups
  • contribute in a meaningful way towards the regeneration of Streatham.

Projects must be Streatham based and Streatham focused. Projects must be targeted at young people. We have not set a specific age-range for who counts as a “young person”, as we want to be led by where you feel the most need is.

We would expect that applications would generally be for amounts of up to £1000, but could be for smaller amounts.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5pm, Sunday 23 March 2014.
