Local paper "facing possible closure"

The Streatham Guardian free local newspaper is “facing possible closure”, says a media website which covers regional newspapers. 

Hold the Front Page* reports the managing editor of the newspaper company of which the Streatham Guardian is a part as saying “I can confirm senior management has been considering a variety of options regarding the Streatham Guardian”, adding  “We’re not ruling anything in or out at this stage and are considering a number of possibilities".

Streatham Library needs Friends...

Our Tate Library is iconic. The Friends of Streatham Library Group care and plan to see it develop and become the heart of the community.

The Friends is newly established (July 2012). It was a big surprise to learn that Streatham was the only library in Lambeth not to have such a group.

Streatham Vale Farmers Market!

UPDATE: Streatham vale Farmers Market is now the Railway Inn Farmers Market. 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month across from Streatham Common Station.

South Oak Academy Football Tournament

Great news!! 5 Aside Football Tournament

 

South Oak Academy will be holding a football tournament for ages 9-13 years old. This will be seen as a trial day also as South Oak Academy are now building a football club and are on the look out for new talent. Scouts will also be present on the day and trophies/medals will be handed out.

Teams: 5 A side

Costs: £4.00 per player

Date:15th April 2012

Time: 10:00 am- Onwards

Age: 9-13 years old

Equipment: Football Boots/ Astro Turfs, Shin pads, bring lunch as we will have a break.
