Streatham Leisure Centre User Group formed

Photo of Streatham Leisure Centre, inlcluding pool, gym, sport hall and ice rink on the Streatham High Road

Several of us met with representatives of Better, the leisure centre operator, and Lambeth Council with a view towards forming a used group for the leisure centre. The reps from Better and Lambeth expressly stated it's up to the user group to set its terms of reference which we're happy to do.

The user group has representation from over 50s, swimmers and non-users (who wish to but don't for some reason). The group is looking to recruit users of the leisure centre from ice dancers/skaters, hockey players, gym users, casual users, fitness class users and swimming club users.

Worried about someone sleeping rough?

Safer Streets Team Lambeth want to know "Are you worried about someone sleeping rough in Lambeth?" We also reduce anti-social behaviour by working with people involved in begging, street drinking, street-based sex work and public drug use.

Please contact us if you are affected by this type of street activity.

You’ve told us that there aren’t enough youth facilities and activities in Streatham, and that young people don’t feel they have a proper stake in Streatham life.
