Volunteer Speed Dating Event 24th Nov

Are you an individual or organisation interested in finding out more about volunteering?

Streatham Action in partnership with Lambeth Council are organising a free VOLUNTEER SPEED DATING Event on

Thursday 24th November 6.30pm – 8.30pm at Woodlawns Centre, 16 Leigham Court Road, Streatham, SW16 2PJ

This is a unique opportunity to:

• PROMOTE yourself or your organisation
• NETWORK with other local organisations and volunteers
• ENGAGE a new audience
• FIND people who might be willing to lend a helping hand

South Oak Academy Football Academy

South Oak Academy football training sessions are a massive hit with the community.  Between 25 - 30 Young People have attended the sessions each week and we are really keen to see this continue to grow.  Sessions take place every Friday so please do come along and enjoy the friendly kick about with local people.  We start at 4:15pm and finish at 5:45pm and it only costs £1.00!

Tender for Community Audit

Streatham Action is seeking expressions of interest from individuals or organisations to carry out an audit of local community groups and voluntary organisations in Streatham and its immediate environs. 

The end result culminating in a comprehensive database (excel) and overall report of findings, which can then be made available to Streatham Action and it’s partners.

Streatham to launch a BID

We got the good news a few days ago - Lambeth council have given (loaned) money to the Streatham Business board and the town centre to launch a business improvement district (BID) in Streatham. So what does this mean? Essentially a BID is a means for businesses within a defined town centre to come together and decide to create a pot of money to improve the business area in ways that encourage local people to shop there, as well as for people outside the area to come in a bring business to the area as well.

Streatham Action Public Meeting: 14 July

Streatham Action held its Summer Public Meeting at English Martyrs Church on Thursday 14th July at 7.00pm.   Topics included updates about the Hub development, proposed planning activities in Streatham, reports from the newly created Friends of Streatham Green, and our locally funded, sourced and delivered youth consultation.

Representatives from Lambeth Council and local community groups shared their news with us and answered questions from the floor.  More news and updates from this meeting coming soon.
