‘Theatre at Risk’ Streatham Hill Theatre gets a helping hand from Theatres Trust A grant of £6,000 has been awarded to the Friends of Streatham Hill Theatre to contribute towards a viability study and economic impact assessment.

Streatham Hill Theatre is one of London’s most lavish ‘sleeping beauties’ and the last theatre designed by W G R Sprague, the architect responsible for some of the most beautiful theatres in London. It has been on the Theatres Trust’s Theatres at Risk Register since 2017.

Friends of Tooting Common Pumpkin Parade

<p>Sunday 27 October 2019: Friends of Tooting Common Pumpkin Parade, followed by Bat Walk. On Sunday 27 October, we will be having our annual Pumpkin Parade, from 3.30pm (registration starts) to about 5.15, taking place by the Cafe, just off Bedford Hill on Tooting Bec Common. Competitions for: Funniest, Scariest and Most Artistic Pumpkins (Entry fee - £2 per pumpkin; max £5 per family). Homemade Fancy Dress: (in two age groups) (NB: must be homemade!). Storytelling, willow star decoration, facepainting and parade of lit pumpkins.

Hopefully, all residents in the above areas will have received a letter through the post over the past few weeks that provides details of this “stage 1 consultation” that Lambeth is now in the final week of the undertaking, with the consultation being open for the whole of the month of September. If you have received this correspondence from Lambeth Council then you will also have been provided with a Unique Reference Number (URN), which you will need in order to be able to complete the questionnaire on Lambeth’s website.

After a successful UK tour and a sold-out show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Wesele / Wedding returns to London in two language versions - Polish on Wed 16th Oct and English on Thu 17th Oct! There's vodka to get you in the mood for raunchy wedding games, disco polo singalongs and stories of love across borders, peppered with Polish and Esperanto. Inspired by Wyspianski's 1901 play, Wesele holds up a mirror to our mid-Brexit society and offers a glimpse into a culture that shaped generations of Poles.
